Flexible Space Computing Architectures with the Joint Architecture Standard (JAS)
Paul Grahan
Los Alamos

Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories are currently developing a new satellite payload processing and data communication architecture that will underlie future Nuclear Detonation Detection System (NDS) payload designs, regardless of host platform. This architecture focuses on increasing mission flexibility, accommodating enhanced sensor performance, and optimizing payload size, weight and power (SWaP) consumption. The focus of this effort is to define a network-based architecture that is scalable, reliable, and reusable.
