90nm 9SF Productization and Qualification Program

Aeroflex Colorado Springs is an assured supplier of HiRel RadHard and non-RadHard Standard and Semicustom products and services to the aerospace and defense community. As fab based supplier of integrated circuits for 20 years, and now a fabless semiconductor supplier for the past 15 years, Aeroflex has demonstrated the capability, reliability and on-going viability of a fabless business model serving the DoD.

Aeroflex Colorado Springs, Inc. is under contract to leverage prior Government funding with Boeing SSED to bring a 90nm RHBD library into the main stream. Under this contract, Aeroflex will be developing, characterizing, productizing and qualifying the Radiation Hardened-by-Design (RHBD) 90nm digital library. Aeroflex will elaborate on the number of tasks being undertaken under this contract and expected outcome including:

• Demonstrating the reliability of the IBM 9SF process for aerospace use
• Developing a Trusted and QML Qualified ASIC design flow and customer ready toolkit for the 90nm RHBD Library
• Developing a Trusted and QML-V Qualified production capability for the production of ASICs to make the technology available for DoD users
• Qualifying the new technology (Silicon & Package) through the testing of a Standard Evaluation Circuit (SEC).

Peter Milliken, Aeroflex Colorado Springs’ Director - Semicustom Products and Services, has been with Aeroflex Colorado Springs, Inc. (formerly UTMC) for over 30 years and over 35 years of experience in integrated circuit design, manufacture and test. Prior to Aeroflex, he held engineering positions with Ford Microelectronics, UTC - MOSTEK, and NCR Microelectronics. He received his BSEE from the University of Colorado, Boulder and his MBA from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
